After the ordeal with RIAA concerning Samsung buying a million copies of his latest album, Jay has soemthing to be happy about. Not only was the rule changed now to accommodate what happened, The album, Magna Carta Holy Grail is now certified platinum by the RIAA, seeing as the rule change allowed it to become eligible for certification only 30 days after its release date.
Jay-Z becomes the first artist in the recording history to have a platinum album on the day of his release, And on top of that he is also expected to top Billboard 200 next week with a projected 350-400k in the first week at retail. This will earn him his 13th #1 album, most for any solo act and second only to The Beatles who have 19.
