On his new upcoming album “Suffering from Success”:
The first single is “No New Friends”, top 5 record in the country right now. New single premiering is called, ”I Wanna Be With You” ft. Nicki Minaj, Rick Ross, and Future. This record is the second single and it’s the biggest talk of the country right now.
On the marriage proposal to Nicki Minaj:
“I was just having fun with it and just show love. Bring some excitement for my fans and connect with the record. I just wanted to tap into the emotion of the record and really spread a message. I was joking with it and having fun. We be so busy making these big hits and I wanted to come with a dope plan to present the next smash single besides just giving it out.”
On why he chose the album title:
“‘Suffering from Success’ is not just about expressing the win and success. It’s about what it took to get to success, the story behind it besides getting success, it’s still separation involved. For example someone graduating from high school. They put all that work in and then you go graduate. Graduating is part of the success. It’s the grind, the hustle, things you had to go through to get to the success. To me the title is more personal, and more my story. Its not just the success its a lot of things that people don’t know, the doors I had to break, personal life, and family stuff. A lot of stuff to get where I’m at and still deal with situations but at the end of the day we are so blessed because we have life to be able to suffer from success like Ace [Hood] when he dropped his album ‘Trials and Tribulations.’ You have to go through trials and tribulations to suffer from success.”
On when other rappers like Jay-Z acknowledge him:
“It means a lot because to be acknowledge from a Jay- Z is a blessing because these are guys that I look up to in the game. Jay-Z, Wayne, Birdman, Diddy…these guys are my friends and for them to acknowledge my hard work, I appreciate it and it inspires me to go even harder. I’m doing it all and these are guys that already did it.”
On his life changing moment:
“My life changed when I dropped ‘We Taking Over.’ Records like ‘I’m So Hood’ to hit national was so big and its me coming from Miami. To have an anthem like “I’m So Hood” to hit national was a game changer for me. ”All I do is win” was the recorder that told everybody that this guy right here is not playing, he ain’t never stopping. ‘We Taking Over’ changed my life. That was the day that we shot the video, me and [Rick] Ross was driving backward in the Bentley drop top. I remember telling Ross, ‘Yo, we made it!’”
